Happy Birthday To Me!

Y’all…It’s my Birthday!!!!  Thank you Lord for letting me live to see another year! I cannot believe that I am 5 years away from 40.  I feel SO OLD! I have to say I am super lucky to share a close birthday with my first born niece and goddaughter, Madison Nicole!  She was born May 21st 2008 and I just CANNOT believe she is 10 years old!  Where has the time gone???

May is always a mix of emotions for me.  It’s my birthday, the month I got married, and the month I got divorced.  The past is the past but sometimes it just comes back to haunt me in May.  All feelings aside, I am really looking forward to 35!

Here’s some things I learned this past year:

-A pretty face is nothing if you have an ugly heart.  People will always think about themselves in the end.  Just be kind to everyone you meet and be a good person.

-You may set goals that are hard to stick to or seem impossible to accomplish.  DON’T GIVE UP. I say this nicely…Nobody likes a quitter. The keto diet tested my willpower so hard but I pushed through it. Keep working towards what you are trying to achieve.

-Your true friends will be honest with you when times get tough.  Listen to what they have to say because they know what you deserve and want you to be happy.

-Cherish the times you have with your family.  As I grow older, I really appreciate those endless Facetime video chats even more since home is 1600 miles away.  My parents have done so much for my sister and I and will still do anything for us.  I can only hope to be as selfless as they are one day.

-Remember that pointless crush I had on a certain someone for a year and a half?  Yeah, it’s done.  No more wasted feelings!  Give your love to someone who will appreciate it (that is not someone who talks to you when they feel like it and comes around when it’s convenient for them).

-Clean your closet and get rid of things you don’t use or need (yes, I have been doing this religiously for the past two months).  The older I get, the more I realize life is about the memories you make every day and not the material things.

-Trust what the universe has in store for you.  Remember that time my best friend from college walked back into my life after almost 15 years? We just reconnected like we never lost touch. Yeah, that was meant to happen.  Just remember, everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.

I love this life I’ve built here in Florida and the friends I’ve made along the way.  This next year is going to be pretty amazing…I just know it.  Oh-There is nothing short of real life here…ever…so, as always, thanks for reading my blog and supporting me.

Until next time,
